This month is all about resolutions (like every January of my life :P). I’ll be posting my four resolutions for the year, throughout this month right here, so subscribe and follow along, we’ll see how this goes…
Resolution: switch to more natural products :)
Last year I tried what feels like every single skincare brand. From drugstore brands like Avène to high-end things like La Mer (spent sooo much money). This is a summary of my top five of the year. I had lots of other favourites, but i’ve used these ones long enough to give them an honest review. They all contain natural ingredients & some are even 100% organic. The main thing is they have way less toxins than the products I used to use, baby steps.
This is the best. It has natural ingredients like rosewater to soothe & hydrate and borage seed oil, which acts as super light moisturizer.
It’s a gel cleanser for all skin types gently washes off every day impurities like dirt and makeup—even mascara—without drying the skin. Try it out!
2. Communion Botanicals Rose Gold Toner
I found Communion Botanicals while living in Nelson, British Columbia, and I fell in love with everything. From the perfect packaging, to the beautiful branding & photography done by Bree Prosser.
I used this toner all summer. The spray nozzle creates the perfect mist & goes on so even. This one contains neroli and rose blossoms which are calming on the skin, and has a wonderfully calming scent, that is non-irritating.
Formulated with: *Citrus aurantium (Neroli) hydrosol, *Hamamelis virginiana (Witch Hazel) extract, Cinnamomum camphora (Ho Wood), *Rosa Damascene (Rose) essential oil. *Certified Organic
The Clarifying moisturizer & Cleansing cream are magical too.

Knick-named the winter skin savior, it’s 100 percent natural, organic, and rich in antioxidant (like vitamin E), so it’s super hydrating. I layer it under moisturizer. It’s also a great multi tasker and can be used to hydrate nails and even split ends.
Formulated without: parabens, sulfates, phthalates and it’s 100 % natural and organic.
I’d suggest trialing the mini size, it’s just $20 Canadian!
4. Saje Wellness peaceful warrior deodorant
It just smells so damn good.
Formulated without: No synthetics and no animal testing. It’s also small enough to carry around and fits easily in your gym bag.
Earthy blend of sandalwood, patchouli, fennel and vetiver exudes peace and strength while helping you feel fresh, so basically it smells like Saje!
Another local brand I found while living in Nelson, British Columbia.
Organic ingredients, minimal, edible and natural ingredients are super important for a lip balm, because you’re basically eating anything you put on your lips two minutes later.
This one contains shea and cocoa butter and sweet almond oil. It lasts really long, it also layers really well under lipsticks.
Formulated with: Prunus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Tocopherol (Vitamin e), Natural Flavour.
